Last night I took a walk along the boulevard,

To take the air and let my mind run free,

When I heard the sound of music from just down the street,

Playing loud and clear despite the wind a sleet

So I moved towards the place where it was coming from,

And found myself outside the town cinema,

Standing on the steps there I saw this guy,

He was playing to the crowds that stood outside,

Chorus

He played with ease,

He sang songs that seemed to please everyone there,

Yes he played with ease,

He sang songs that seemed to please everyone there.

He sang songs of love and peace and of war and hate,

Songs of past and present and for the future,

And although it was quite cold he spread a warmth to all,

And every time he stopped we all cried for more

Chorus

Much later I walked home along the boulevard,

The air was clear my mind was running free,

I was loudly recollecting as I walked along,

Each and every one of that busker's songs.

Chorus twice then finish

The Busker
